I am sorry it has been such a long time since my last post! I had one hand tied with the election and the other tied with our dog-sitting business. Now with the election done, I have time! (At least until it’s time to take a dog for a walk😊)
I know some of you have started listening to Christmas music BUTBUTBUTBUTBUTBUT THERE IS THANKSGIVING MUSIC OUT THERE TOO! And here are some of my favorites:
Now there is no particular movie for Thanksgiving that I know of? But that’s just me. If you know of any, comment in the comment section!
We watch the Muppets Christmas Carol at Thanksgiving. Not that it’s a Thanksgiving movie but it’s in preparation for CHRISTMAS. WHICH REMINDS ME CHRISTMAS IS GETTING CLOSER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
1. Display the award’s official logo somewhere on your blog. 2. Thank the person who nominated you. 3. Provide a link to your nominator’s blog. 4. Answer your nominator’s questions. 5. Nominate up to 11 bloggers. 6. Ask your nominees 11 questions. 7. Notify your nominees by commenting on at least one of their blog posts.
Alrighty then, here we (or is it I) go!
1. What’s your second favorite TV show?
Hmmmm…I don’t watch too much. Let me see. Maybe Bonanza?
2. If you could only read the works of one author all the rest of your life, who would you choose? (The Bible is exempted from this.)
Probably the works of Jonathan Edwards or George Whitefield. If you have to read one author’s works for the rest of your life, it has to be A. Works that you can read and ponder and B. LOTS of it!🙂)
3. What’s a fun fact about yourself that you would like people to know, but there’s never a good opportunity to bring up?
I have had 3 near-death experences? I don’t really know.
4. Tell us a random weird word that you like.
That would be: Howdy!
5. You’re going to Mordor with the Ring, and you’re assembling your Fellowship! Which eight fictional characters (from any fictional works, not just LOTR) do you want to come with you, and why? (If you aren’t familiar with The Lord of the Rings, just assemble eight fictional characters you would want to bring along on a dangerous quest.)
First off would be Peter, Edmond, and Lucy, (Sorry Susan!) from The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe, Colonel Nobody from The Boy Colonel, the Stoning Twins from Brothers in Arms, Shardas the Gold from Dragon Slippers, and Bull Cotton from Russky.
6. Do you on the whole prefer movies from before or after 1960? Why?
Before 1960. They are less woke, generally the women wore clothes, and there was less immorality. (There are lots of good movies that were made after 1960 like Sound of Music (1965), Exodus (1962), God’s Not Dead (20??-2024), and others, but generally the ones made before 1960 were better.
7. Suppose you’re tasked with creating a flag for a new country. What does it look like?
A blue background with a red X. Or a red background with a blue X.
8. Is poetry or prose fiction more expressive? Do you think one form is higher than the other?
I don’t really know. I don’t really read poetry or prose tbh😂
9. What are the last three songs you listened to?
Sound of the Saints by Coffey Ministries
Gravitas by Soon Hee Newbold
My Princess by Coffey Anderson
10. If you had the ability to make it so that it was always your favorite season of the year, would you do it?
No, because I would get tired of that season😂
11. Dream cast your favorite actor and actress (either can be from any time period; this is dream casting, after all!) in an adaptation of the classic book you think they’re best suited for.
Hmmmmm. Give some time to think on that one because I don’t watch a whole lot of television.
Thankyou again Lizzie for the nomination! It was great questionaire!
I have not done a book review in awhile and for that I apologise. But I have one here for you today!
Titles: Nova and the Lost Stars
Author: Lillian Keith
Review: Nova and the Lost Stars is a very sweet book! While Nova waits anxiously for her father to return from a voyage, an earthquake hits, and Nova realized it shook the three stars out of the sky that would guide her father home! She embarks on a journey to send the stars back up to the sky so her father can find his way home.
So every July, we go to a Civil War Reenactment in Hasting, MI. It goes for two days so the first day (Saturday) shows one battle and a second battle is on Sunday. We only go to the Saturday one. At first, we (Jonas and I) were content with just watching and dressing up in Civil War attire….. (Wooden cap rifles and powder horns)
(Group pic with my brother (brown floppy hat), sisters (blue and yellow bonnets), and three of my nieces (purple bonnets).
Then we joined as powder monkeys……..
(Sorry. I couldn’t find a picture for this:(
Then this year we were both in it as Confederate Infantry! *Rebel war whoop*
Here are some pictures and videos from the morning:
(My sister Joy in a historic schoolhouse in Charlton Park)
(My very adorable niece Rose)
(Note: I uploaded the videos to Youtube.)
(I am the Reb with the glasses and a floppy hat🙂🙂🙂) (My nieces are also here! They’ve gotten so big!!!!!)
Here are some from the afternoon battle:
(This one says Restricted Mode is blocking it. If you get the same problem, comment and I will send you the link.)
(Oh come on Restricted Mode, I uploaded these!)
(Charge!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
After the battle, our family went to my (LITTLE😜😉😛) sister’s house and ate dinner. Then my father, Jonas, my three oldest nieces, and (of course) I went to the evening Square Dance. (I personally think it might be a wee bit more fun than participating in the battle.)
(The little girl dancing with her little brother is so sweet!)
(The guy with the brown hat and cowboy boots is Jonas)
(Guess who the guy with white cowboy hat is……)
Well as you probably have guessed this is one of my FAVORITE events of the year. Probably non-holiday events I love it would be 2nd. Or first. I think it might be slightly behind the musical Pilgrim.
Newsflash: As some of you know I have 3 adopted siblings. One of their parents were supposed to visit next Tuesday from China. But they just messaged that they will be here tomorrow.
